I had no idea what to expect when we headed west out of Sioux Falls this morning. But when we saw the sign for “Badlands” there was no resisting it. And millions of years of volcanic eruption and water erosion did not disappoint.

We saw a few other things along the way today as well. Like the famous Wall Drug. Why is it famous? No idea. But if you’re in the mood for loads of touristy crap, they got ya covered.

All this way, and the drug store part of the enterprise isn’t even open.

Take our advice and stick to nature when you come for a visit. Cheap souvenirs will be tossed out in a year. Memories like this will stick with you for a lifetime…
