Near melee erupts in Dakota’s biggest store as staff recognizes “celebrity”

“We’ve got a celebrity in our store!” noted Al at Al’s Oasis in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Excitement spread as customers and cashiers recognized Kevin from his weekly syndicated column that runs in their local newspaper.

Al told Ken and Kevin that his daughter, a chemical engineer, recently went back to school and got her masters in journalism and is writing for a paper in Minnesota.

“No need to thank us,” Kevin explained.  We’re just on this earth to bring joy to others.”

Staff were presented with Ken and a Kevin souvenirs and a “Keep South Dakota safe” keychain.

Apparently the machine that makes keychains in South Dakota wasn’t working well that day, so the keychain is not perfectly rectangular. But we still appreciate the sentiment.
